Press release distributed by PR Newswire - Announcing http://www.AddingWisdomAward.com
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 1, 2004 -- ParentToParent.com
(http://www.parenttoparent.com) has been awarding family-friendly web sites with the Parent to Parent Adding Wisdom Award since 1998. Among those touted in the prestigious and exclusive Parent to Parent Winner's Circle, include some amazing sites like Disney.com, Nestle's new site for kids, verybestkids.com, two new sites from PBS, itsmylife.org and inthemix.org, and other large, as well as small, websites.
Parents across the country recognize the Adding Wisdom Award displayed on sites ensuring a parent-approved and safe visit for their kids that adheres to the Child Privacy Act. Not every site has won the award and not every one who did has been showcased in the Winner's Spotlight. Now, Parent to Parent will acknowledge an Adding Wisdom Award for toys, books, video/audio, and other family-friendly products, including magazines, radio and TV programming.
"We are just going to the next level at the request of the public," says CEO and president of AddingWisdomAward.com, Jodie Lynn.
"I've put it off long enough. We get tons of requests for the award from authors, publishers, toy inventors, toy companies, artists of music, videos and everything in between. Guidelines on submissions are available online making it easy to apply," says the award-winning internationally syndicated family columnist of Parent to Parent.
The Parent to Parent Adding Wisdom Award stands for exactly what it says, "Adding Wisdom." If the product passes the tough criteria of the Parent to Parent Family Testing Group, it might win the award. Our panels of judges consist of licensed experts, child care facilities and parents as well as kids.
"It's a time-consuming job and it has been long in coming," says Lynn, who is also a best-selling author, "and our interest in providing balanced and fair recommendations to the general public in purchasing the best products for their kids is very important to us. We want children to be safe but yet we want the products to perform how they say they will ... kind of like a watchdog group. It's time for someone to step up to the plate and maybe say 'no, your product does not pass our level of testing and it isn't safe for kids and it doesn't add wisdom - actually, it breaks or poses a safety issue or whatever!'"

Jodie Lynn originated the term Mom CEO(TM) - and all of its implications - to honor "balance in the life of moms" and has used the term since 1997.
