Once a year Editor and Publisher Magazine comes out with a Who's Who in the publishing industry featuring columnists, authors and cartoonists that have come into their own through syndication.
For the 2003-2004 edition, Jodie Lynn has been named as one of the syndicated family/parenting columnists for her hard work in regard to her award-winning Parent to Parent column and ParentToParent.com website.
Mrs. Lynn was a guest on NPR discussing The Role of Motherhood with the late St. Louis columnist, TV and radio personality, Greg Freeman. Greg died December 31, 2002. While he will be missed -- he will also be remembered forever.
Jodie has been featured in the Step Into Success Magazine. Her article on how to motivate kids while trying to be a good role model during stressful times was the featured piece. This is a section in her latest book, Mommy-CEO, revised edition.
Jodie Lynn was chosen for a weekly TV parenting segment for NBC for a 3 month slot. She left to write for Oxygen.com who had purchased MomsOnLine.com as a parenting expert for children of school age. Her contract ended when many of the contract writers were let go after the 2002 renovation of the site owned by Gerry Osbourne and Oprah Winfrey.
Some of her nationwide speaking engagements include:
- Erma Bombeck 2004 Writing Workshop on Syndication
- Working Woman's Workshop
- MOPS (Mother's Of Preschoolers)
- American Business Women's Association
- Entrepreneurial Parents Association
- Toast Masters
- National Association of Women Business Owners
- YWCA
- YMCA
- Lincoln Financial Group
She has been a guest on various TV and radio shows and is constantly written up for her relentless work in helping to keep the web and household safe for kids by distributing her internationally recognized ParentToParent.com Adding Wisdom Award. The award was created in 1997 to help in the fight against explicit websites before anyone else even thought of it. (It's true President Bush.) Until recently, the award was free but folks are now charged a small fee just to get the footwork done on the mainstream reviewing criteria and does not include many other expenses. Some of the most highly respected companies have applied for the award including -- but not limited to: Disney.com, verybestkids.com (owned by Nestle), National Center for Learning Disabilities (http://www.ld.org), GetRreadyToRead.org, National Family Week (http://www.nationalfamilyweek.org) and many many others who are striving to make a difference in today's society for children. While it is impossible to list those who do make the cut, (and not everyone does) see a few more names in our Winner's Circle through a link off of the main page
